I just made it through my first 3 days of training. Passed all my tests and got sent to my DSP to start working. I assumed I’d be doing some sort of ride along with an experienced driver first, but they said they put new drivers on routes right away. And the ride along is only done if you’re really struggling in your first few days.
That seems really odd to me. I feel like this job is pretty straightforward, but I was really looking forward to that ride along shift to learn tips and ways to be more efficient from an actual driver. See how they manage their day. Maybe learn more about our DSP and what they’re like.
Did most of you have ride-along training? Would it be weird to request that I do a ride along shift first when I talk to my DSP?
