Any TurboTax Or TaxSlayer Users? Or Just Using 401(K) Solo/SEP IRAs?

I’m trying to figure out of it’s worth buying a program like TurboTax or TaxSlayer self-employed versions. To me, filling out a Schedule C isn’t that difficult and if that’s really all they do not sure it’s worth paying for them. I’m looking for something more comprehensive. Can anyone who has used these comment on how they handle things like:

  • Retirement planning/contributions with 401(k) Solo or SEP IRA to minimize tax burden
  • Filing estimated quarterly taxes
  • Suggesting potential deductions beyond the obvious basics like phone, mileage, supplies, etc.
