i was at 870. one bad day, on a rural route, where streetlights had apparently not been invented yet, i didn’t return to the station until nearly 11 p.m. it was dark and i was having a mental breakdown about how late it was getting, and how dangerous it was for me, in my unmarked van, to be approaching isolated trailers and cabins in the dead of night.

obviously, my score tanked from that day. i’m talking down to like 720 just from just that. and sense then, i can’t get it to nudge up. one “hard-cornering” and it stays the same. one “quick-acceleration” because i’m attempting to not get rear-ended, and it drops further. one “heavy-breaking” to avoid a dog or chicken and.. well, you get it.

so am i just fucked? i mean, i’ve had days before where i don’t get a single violation, but even then it only nudges up my FICO by a measly bit, which is immediately rendered null-and-void by the next day when i achieve a single violation.

this job seems to expect, and encourage, failure in an effort to replace you and continue the cycle.
