I might be busted for time theft but no one has overtly said anything to me directly, taken shifts off of me, or threatened termination and/or lawsuit. There have been hints about it and people have been behaving differently around me but this might be in my head. In terms of my specific actions, I find ways to extend the day out to the full 10 hour mark but I recently realized only a few other people do this at my DSP. There was also another occurrence where I basically admitted to this a while back but never received any write ups or further inquisition about this event. I’ve been doing this for a while now but today was the first day management has ever mentioned the words “time theft”. They basically said don’t do it or something along those lines at stand up. However, I am unsure about the full extent of what was said because my body filled with adrenaline, causing my memory to be limited. My question for you guys is why they haven’t fired me or talked to me about it? Are they just collecting evidence for a potential lawsuit? There are a decent number of other people that are also doing the same thing so I am thinking it would be profitable to pursue this legally. I was thinking about quitting immediately after today but am thinking this will make me even more suspicious. Lastly, has anyone else been in a similar situation or know of someone that went through something familiar? How fucked am I?
